Skillset invites Animation industry to Soho Showcase
Skillset is bringing the best of this year’s animation graduate talent to Soho in an event that combines a recruitment fair, industry presentations, professional advice and networking.
The Animation and VFX Showcase will take place at the Vinyl Factory, Poland St, Soho, London, on 8 July. Entry is free and limited to animation film and TV personnel only, but guests must register for the event. Please visit skillset.org/animationshowcase.

Life’s a Beach! PGF trainees use lush beach locations for their short film ‘Balance’
Based around the tragic accident of a world-renowned surfer, the latest trainee film produced by a Post-Graduate Facility team has made good use of the stunning Gower beaches with some ambitious on-location filming. Balance, starring Tom Cullen and Erin Richards, is a gripping sports thriller that pushes a fragile relationship to breaking point. The crew was made up with Screen Academy Wales graduates selected for the third PGF programme.

Hotbed Media are filming a new series called Street Market Chefs for FIVE, a new prime time series presented by Amanda Lamb (A Place in the Sun, Market Kitchen). They are interested in offering SSAW students and graduates the chance to spend the day watching a television crew at work on a shoot. On Wednesday 7th July they will be in Bristol. They are looking for 10 people, so if you are interested please email Alex Leadley by midnight on Sunday 4th July. You will be notified if you have been selected on Monday 5th July.
BBC offers various trainee schemes this summer, including Research & Development; Production Trainee and Design Trainee Schemes. The Design Trainee Scheme is recruiting between 19 - 26 July 2010 – click here for further details.
